Bio

I received my BFA in Printmaking from the University of Montana in 2010. After graduation I became the print shop coordinator and outreach educator for the ZACC. Through my work I witnessed printmaking’s impact on the Missoula community. The ZACC’s print shop patrons created t-shirts for their garage bands, yard signs for their political campaigns, and fliers for their local businesses. Printmaking’s accessibility connected people and empowered civic engagement.

After moving to Nebraska I continued to promote printmaking as a public good through teaching workshops in public schools and art non-profits.

I am aligning my education and studio practice community activism to promote safe spaces for Queer Nebraskans. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for OutNebraska a statewide LGBTQIA+ advocacy group, and am the creator of queerPOP which organizes pop-up events for Queer people in brick and mortar business. I received the Nebraska Individual Artist Fellowship Grant in 2022. My upcoming solo shows will explore Queer culture and symbols.

Artist Statement

My artwork simulates the ways distressing events are stored and remembered through kaleidoscopic imagery, collage-like compositions, and impossible perspectives. Physically breaking up images allows me to digest disturbing memories and reconstruct a narrative that feels cohesive.

Previously, my work has confronted the intersections of agriculture and mental health. My in-process work is a rumination on the ways Queer people navigate perceived heteronormativity, as well as projects featuring the voices of Queer people living and working in rural spaces.
